Proper Pruning
Pruning is both an art and a science and requires a delicate balance. Unintentional over pruning by homeowners and unqualified landscape professionals is often detrimental to trees, and can lead to mortality. Proper pruning removes the least possible live wood and requires an in-depth knowledge of tree biology and the growth habits of each specific species to ensure that proper pruning cuts are completed in precisely the right locations, at the right time in both the tree’s growth and life cycles.
Dormancy Pruning
At the conclusion of the growing season, trees go into dormancy and the flow of sap shuts down or slows significantly providing an ideal time to take on more significant pruning projects. Our arborists work year-round, and by completing work during dormancy, the risk of exposure to pests or disease is significantly reduced.
Young Tree Pruning
One of the most critical times in a tree’s life is during its first few years. Careful pruning while a tree is young helps foster healthy growth and a strong structure that will evolve into a magnificent mature tree as it grows. This service should generally be performed every two years after planting.
Tree Removal
As a company, we are primarily focused on tree preservation, however, when removal is required, we are well equipped to handle the task whether it’s one tree in your backyard or dozens of trees or more in the forest behind your home. Regardless of the reason—tree mortality, hazard removal, new construction, fire mitigation, or otherwise—our team has the knowledge and skill to safely and efficiently remove trees in even the most difficult to access areas with minimal impact to the surrounding landscape and environment using aerial lifts, arborist climbers, reduction rigging, cranes, and even high-lift helicopters.
Stump Grinding
When a tree is removed, stumps can take decades to degrade leaving a blight on your otherwise lovely landscape. Following an inspection to locate and mark any utilities and other underground infrastructure, our stump grinding technicians use specialized machines to safely and efficiently grind remaining wood and large roots below grade, leaving level soil ready for replanting of flowers, grass, or a replacement tree.
Cabling, Bracing, & Guying
Various factors can cause trees to require additional support or stabilization, including partial blowdowns, fractures or splits from snow loads, or excessive leverage due to overextension. Some trees are also just generally weaker, more brittle wood and therefore more prone to failure. We analyze the structure of your tree using visual assessments and sounding, as well as tools that sample the entire core to locate unseen weakness. From there, we utilize mechanical supports carefully attached to the trees in a way that does not harm them to provide lasting support that helps reduce the risk of failure or the need for removal.
