Getting Started with an Arborist

The tree care we provide begins with an evaluation by an ISA Certified Arborist. During this evaluation, your dedicated arborist will:

• Meet with you at your property, and walk the property with you
• Discuss your priorities and concerns, and help you understand what is going on with your tree(s)
• Look at your tree’s health
• Assesses the environment in which the tree exists
• Check for any external factors that can influence tree health
• Provide an overview of the care options.

We take a holistic approach that considers:

• Soil health
• Sunlight needs
• Canopy structure
• Forest density
• Competing ground cover
• Weather exposure
• Irrigation and drainage
• Pests and diseases
• Cultural issues like excessive foot traffic that causes compaction, or construction impacts.

Our arborists make extensive use of soil sampling to ensure that your trees have what they need to grow and that the soil allows for proper root growth. We use lab-based plant pathology to diagnose underlying issues when something affecting your trees isn’t immediately apparent.
