Tree Climber and Crew Lead for Old Growth Tree Service

What You’ll Be Doing
- Serving as an advanced climber, leading a crew in removal and pruning work
- Inspecting worksites and identifying risks
- Managing your crew to meet goals for safety, quality, productivity, and return per hour
- Partnering with sales arborists to manage time and exceed client expectations
- Mentoring aspiring climbers and crew leads while continually seeking to better yourself and expand your own knowledge
- Utilizing specialized machinery such as bucket trucks, backyard lifts, chippers, skid steers, advanced rigging equipment, and grapple trucks
- Performing daily inspections of equipment and vehicles
- Driving specialized trucks to various work sites around the valley
- Ensuring all tools, equipment, and materials are well-maintained and accounted for prior to and after completion of each job

Requirements
- An unwavering commitment to safety with a track record to back it up
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of climbing including: work planning and jobsite management; knots and rigging; forces and vectors; ascending techniques; crane assisted work; limb walking; safe operation of chainsaws while climbing; and communication between climber and ground personnel
- A proven track record of partnering with sales and ownership to meet business goals and quality standards
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, humility, personal integrity, and desire to grow personally and professionally
- Physical fitness and ability to work outside at all times in all weather conditions are required. Duty modifications may be made during specific seasons throughout the year.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Communication skills
- Multitasking skills
- Ability to work well with others
- ISA certification or ability to obtain it with our support within 6 months
- CTSP certification or ability to obtain it with our support within 6 months
- Drivers license; CDL A preferred
- Two references from recent, relevant employers

Where You’ll Work
- You will perform services for a wide variety of clients in diverse locations from private gardens and backyards to public spaces or remote areas.
- The majority of work time is spent in the field operating machinery or hand tools, performing PHC/arboricultural services, clean-up, and being courteous to customers.
- Some of your time will be spent indoors to complete paperwork, and attend meetings, and trainings.
- We are currently hiring for our Vail, Eagle County, and Roaring Fork Valley Locations.
