Tree Operations Specialist I, II, III

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for any experienced or entry level Tree Operations Specialist to work in our tree removal department. Willing to train the right individuals! 

These positions are responsible for all groundwork, including the operation of various pieces of power equipment. They frequently assist the Crew Leader with aspects of their work. They observe all safety rules to guarantee a clean and safe work zone.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Drive specialized trucks to various work sites around the valley.
  • Choose and load necessary daily equipment.
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment and vehicles.
  • Utilize specialized mechanical instruments such as: an air spade, chipper, skid steer, and stump grinder.
  • Operate hand equipment including but not limited to chainsaws, rakes and blowers.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are well maintained and accounted for prior to and after completion of each job.
  • Choose and inspect personal protective equipment.
  • Inspect worksites and identify risks.
  • Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Aid climber with appropriate tools and safety protocols.
  • Remove limbs and debris to the disposal area (this includes raking and basic yard cleanup).
  • Maintain a high level of quality in all work performed.
  • Complete all duties in compliance with AMTL safety policies, ANSI Z133.1, OSHA safety standards, and ANSI A300 Pruning standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Majority of work time is spent in the field operating machinery or hand tools, arboricultural services, clean-up, and being courteous to customers.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outside is required, with duty modification during specific seasons throughout the year.
  • Office work and time needed to complete paperwork, and attend meetings/training.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma.
  • A valid driver’s license. CDL a plus or ability to obtain a CDL within 3 months of hire.
  • Reliable and Dependable
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Education/Training in Arboriculture or tree removal an asset but not required.
  • ISA Certified Arborist is an asset.
  • Proficient in English; All forms of communication
