Plant Health Care Technician: Noxious Weeds & Turf

Those pretty, purple flowers in the long grass? Thistle. Cute little yellow flowers in the lawn? Dandelions. And those annoying seeds that stick to your shoelaces after walking through a meadow? Houndstongue. If you’re an experienced plant health care CO or QS, you know this and much, much more about the weeds that are invading our landscapes and choking out the native grasses. And if you’re looking to start a career with endless work and possibility for growth, we can train you and help you become a certified operator and then qualified supervisor. The weeds are growing, as is our company, and we are looking for individuals to join our plant health care team.

You’ll spend your days being active outside while working in the most beautiful vistas throughout the Vail Valley, many of which are seldom seen by the general public. One day, you may be treating manicured turf at an estate in a gated community; then, the next, working in a native area on the side of a mountain hunting down emerging weeds. Your season will start in April, depending of course on the weather; and we will keep you busy through December or until the snow flies, intersecting perfectly with winter work at the ski areas.

You will also be responsible for driving and operating a variety of equipment including our unmistakable, state-of-the-art plant health care trucks, which you may have seen driving up and down the valley, as well as UTVs, and other vehicles. And most importantly, you’ll be a part of an extraordinary team of individuals that was voted among the best home service businesses in the valley by the readers of the Vail Daily.

Pay depends on experience and we offer ample opportunity to increase your wage and grow professionally through in-house and outside training that we will pay for and pay you to complete! Sound good? Reach out today to jobs@oldgrowth-tree.com or call 970-401-0274.
